The above archives groups are arranged,
according to the archival principals and generally classified
in groups belonging to the agencies and organizations as transferred
to the institution. Some groups are organized according to the
historical period. A few gaps in some groups are inevitable
because they have been received as backlog collection which
were not kept in accordance with the Record Management principles
by the departments concerned.

The institution has official publications
of various Governments Institution and are kept as printed archives
which is about over 50,000 books. The microfilms, microfiches,
tapes and photographs are kept as non paper Archives which is
over 15,000 nos.

At present the researchers are given
the opportunity to utilize the Archives of RG(1) from (1835-1950)
and the Printed Archives of the institution.

The archival holdings of the department
runs to about 16,000 linear feet approximately.
