          FERD is coordinating with foreign countries, bilateral & multilateral organization and UN agencies for the following economic and technical cooperation programmes in order to enhance socio-economic development of the Nation.

A Grant amounting to RMB Yuan (80) million was received under the Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement signed  on 12-12-01 in Yangon. The grant was allocated to the following ministries for utilization.

Economic and Technical Cooperation between Myanmar and UNDP
     
         Human Development Initiative (HDI) Phase IV has been implemented in 63 townships in Chin, Kachin, Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon, Kayah, Northern Shan States , Delta, Dry Zone, Yangon and Mandalay Division with the assistance of UNDP covering in the areas: Primary Health Care, HIV/AIDS prevention, Community Water Supply and Sanitation, Primary Education, Environment and Food security, Community Development for Remote Townships and Program Facilities for 2002-2007. Eighty Two percent of the total expenditure was already utilized as of 2007 March.
 
Economic and Technical Cooperation between Myanmar and UNICEF
 
          Under Myanmar –UNICEF Country Programme Action Plan (2006-2010), (15) projects are being implemented in the five sectors, namely, Health and Nutrition Promotion, Water Supply, Environmental Sanitation and Hygiene, Comprehensive Quality Education, Child Protection and Social Sector Analysis, Planning and Monitoring with UNICEF inputs of US$106.13 million.
